ECF-Retail Wealth Management (Macao)


Since 2021, the Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF) on Retail Wealth Management (RWM) Macao has been jointly offered by the Macau Institute of Financial Services (IFS), the University of Macau, and the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB). This programme replaces the Certified Financial Management Planner™ (CFMP™), which had been organised by IFS and HKIB since 2009.

ECF - Retail Wealth Management (Macao) programme is designed to develop a sustainable talent pool of RWM practitioners for the banking industry; and to raise and maintaining the professional competence of RWM practitioners in the banking industry.

It targets to both new entrants and existing RWM practitioners to help them achieve the required competency level through attaining a professional qualification with continuous professional development in the retail wealth management sector.



Programme Structure:

The ECF-RWM Macao programme consists of 7 modules, each requiring 18 hours of study. The programme is delivered in Chinese, and the fee is MOP5,500 per module.

Note: There is no classroom training and examination for Module 4. Students must apply for an exemption by passing the Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examination (IIQE) Papers 1, 2, and 3.



Certification:

  • Associate Retail Wealth Professional Macao (ARWP Macao):

    Awarded to practioners who have completed the training and passed the examinations for Modules 1 to 4.

  • Certified Retail Wealth Professional Macao (CRWP Macao)
    Awarded to practitioners who have completed the training and passed the examinations for all 7 modules, with at least two years of relevant work experience.


Both ARWP Macao and CRWP Macao holders are registered as Certified Individuals (CI) and included in the Lists of Certified Individual on the HKIB website.

 


Entry Requirements:

Learners must fulfil stipulated minimum entry requirements:

  • Students of Associate Degree (AD) / Higher Diploma (HD) in any disciplines;
    OR

  • Equivalent qualifications or above;
    OR

  • Mature applicants with 3 years of relevant banking experience with recommendations from employer.

 

Remarks: Mature applicants (aged 21 or above) who do not possess the above academic qualifications but with relevant banking experience and recommendation from their employers will be considered on individual merit.
