Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examination (IIQE)

The Insurance Intermediaries Quality Assurance Scheme was implemented in Macao on 1 January 2002. Under the Scheme, all insurance intermediaries are required, unless exempted, to pass the Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examination (IIQE).

The Macau Institute of Financial Services (IFS) has been appointed by the Monetary Authority of Macau (AMCM) as the examination body to hold the Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examination since its establishment in 2002.

The examination consists of the following papers:
Paper I    -    Principles & Practice of Insurance
Paper II   -    Non-Life Insurance
Paper III  -    Life Insurance
Paper IV  -    Pension Fund Examination (Exam Date to be announced by AMCM)
Paper V  -    Investment-Linked Long Term Insurance

The “Computer Screen (CS)” mode examinations are held from Monday to Friday, except public holidays. Candidates are required to enrol for the examination in advance, and entry to the examination subject to the availability of seats. 

The IFS will hold the “Paper IV - Pension Fund” Examination starting from 5 January 2022, and accept the registration from 1 December 2021.

The Paper IV examination lasts for 2 hours and consists of 75 multiple-choice questions, and the examination fee is MOP120. Candidates may choose either Chinese or English examination paper, and download the study notes from the IFS website at http://www.ifs.org.mo free of charge.
