
The Certified Financial Management Planner (CFMP™) is a professional designation developed, implemented and conferred by the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB). It aims to improve student’s understanding and knowledge of issues relating to financial planning and advising. This is the first-ever financial planning program in Hong Kong which has incorporated the banking elements, banking ordinance, investment products and market. It has been widely recognized by leading banks and other financial institutions in Macao, Hong Kong and Mainland China.
The Macau Institute of Financial Services (IFS) and HKIB have jointly organized the CFMP™ courses in Macao since 2009. The 1st batch of CFMP™ Public Class in Macao was commenced in November 2009 and completed in October 2010. The 2nd batch was commenced in November 2010 and completed in September 2011. The 3rd batch was commenced in February 2012, and completed in December 2012.
As the program has been well received, the IFS and the HKIB will continue running the CFMP™ courses in 2013 in response to the market needs. The 4th batch is scheduled to start on March 9, 2013, and complete in December 2013. The deadline for enrollment is February 8, 2013. The target students are financial practitioners who are interested in financial management.
The CFMP program consists of the following 7 subjects in two stages:
Stage 1: Module 1: Regulatory Environment for Banking & Financial Planning
Module 2: Investment Products and Markets
Module 3: Essentials of Banking and Financial Planning
Stage 2: Module 4: Insurance and Retirement Planning
Module 5: Tax and Estate Planning
Module 6: Fund and Asset Management
Module 7: Financial Planning and Management
The entry requirement for the course is Form 5 plus 2 years’ banking or finance-related working experience OR Associated Degree OR above.
To enroll in the course, candidates need to do the following:
1. To fill in the enrollment form
2. To submit a copy of identity card, and relevant true copies of transcripts, certificates, or diplomas for F5 graduates, working experience proof document is required.
3. To pay the tuition fee
4. To apply the HKIB membership if candidates wish to take the exam. Membership fee is waived up to 31 December 2013.
